I do not work in the retail industry from the normal perpective, but I have seen the economic effects all the same. I work for a transportation company with some of our clients being Walmart, Target, Sears, Starbucks, etc. I have seen an effect on our business because of the retail stores attempt to lean out their inventory in response to slow brick-and-mortor sales. I can't say specifics, but volumes are down more with a few companies than they are with others...and are definately down as a whole in the retail market.
