My ventilation can blow hot for a short time after I restart the car following a reasonably fast journey. I reckon this is just the residual heat from the engine bay which has warmed the air in the pipes before the A/C kicks in and blows cold.

I'm due a service in about 3000 miles. I will be asking them about it.
