won't that through you out of stock class? or did the chipping already do that?
if so what kind of competition do you go up against?

You can change everything after the CAT.s and stay in stock class. As for the chip.... I've asked verbally and in writting to SCCA about the Crossfire being in DS ("D" Stock) and about the chip changing my class. All of the replies I've gotten is that they have changed their (SCCA) position on performance chipping and are leaving all but chipped turbo deisels in stock class. They have told me that it's their opinion that at the relatively slow speeds of an autocross that the chip really doesn't come into play.... I think it comes into play a bunch, with the increase in mid and high end torque... But if they want to leave me in stock class I'll take it.

I posted a copy of the reply I got from SCCA here (on the forum) about 6 months ago.
We compete against everything from single seat formula fords, Vettes, to VW bugs. Everyone is handicaped by class. If it has 4 wheels and can fit between the cones it can autocross. Some are just better suited for it than others. But it's really all about having fun!
