saskins, I have to say that in my 35 years in aerospace I've seen some pretty elaborate ways of insulating things but have never seen anything like the paint you described. There are some coatings that I'm aware of that have some pretty good insulating properties but nothing like the stuff you are using. :shock:
I have noticed that now that you're not using the stock air-box that you have moved the inlets. Are they now drawing fresh air through the lower grilles or are you still intaking air from inside the engine bay? If you're still drawing air from inside the engine bay insulation seems to be a mute point or at least an exercise in futility. :?
