The Gremlin was most definately NOT a POS for cars at the time. I had one, and in fact the Crossfire reminds me very much of the 1973 Gremlin I owned. Same wheelbase and the Gremlin had more usable space. Anyway, if you look at collector reviews, the Gremlin ahd more HP and torque than any of the cars at the time, Vega, Pinto etc. It was deemed very reliable compared to others, was a simplistic design as they all were, and today is considered the sleeper of car collecting. I had mine for 3 years before trading it on a 75 Nova SS and in many respects I'm sorry I did, although that Nova was one of the best cars I ever had-150K on the clock and maybe 1000 in repairs in the 10 years I owned it. Actually, I'm kinda pleased that 38 years later I have my old Gremlin back in a new reincarted body design. Better HP and handling too! But it still feels the same on the snow!
