Can anyone clarify this for me? also, the subs have a mounting depth of 3-1/4", so I think they'll fit back there, if not then they're going in the rear compartment.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...low/TS-SW1241D these are the subs I'm planning on mounting. The minimum on them is 350-watts a piece, and I dont know if or think that the stereo amp that came with my crossfire will sustain them. I figured I needed to get a 800-1000W range amp for them. But I dont know if the stock stereo has a pre-amp feature - I'm pretty sure it does but I don't know for sure and I'm not going to rip out my stereo to check. I'm not really a car tech guy and I'm going to have it installed professionally, but some opinions and information about this subject would be most appreciated!
The area behind the seats isn't going to have enough room for those speakers - the gas tank is in there. Don't go drilling...
Your factory amp won't support the subs. You will need a separate amp, run directly from the battery with its own fuse at the battery and inside the car. You might expect to need to upgrade your charging/power system/battery.
As others have suggested, the rear cargo area is probably your only option for the speakers.
