I will still do the study on making one from scratch.

Thought i would check in on this page ... i recieved a sought after cargo cover for christmas this year.. it was one on 2 left in the country..( so they said) it arrived in about 8 pieces.. UPS dropped it on one side and killed the plastic locking and rolling mechinism on one side

So... i have no idea how to fix it.. and since the company most likely will trash it.. would anyone be intrested in it? My father paid 250.00 .. thats what ups is going to give me for it.. (im thinking it should be more because it cant be replaced.. but i doubt they would go for that)

At this point UPS is going to give me replacement value. but if someone was intrested in using the shade... i am a bit sad to not be able to use it.. but i know the shade itself is in great shape.. its just what holds it thats broken
