Default Nitto Invo

I put a set of the Nitto Invos on my SRT6 just over a year ago. Stayed with the stock size 225/40/18 front but bumped up to 285/30/19 rear (almost exactly the same diameter as stock so no odometer/speedometer issues).

Since installed I have put only 5K on the car. The rears look to be good for another 7-10K miles. The fronts were just flat worn out. The outside tread disappered first but the inside and middle wear bars were flush as well. The camber might have been off a bit but I still can't believe only 5K miles even on the rest of the tire.

When I showed them to the place I got them. Their attitude was "...well you have a high performance car and you have to expect that kind of wear from performance tires..." Then they claimed my alignment was the cause. I admit the camber might be slightly off, but there is no cupping or any other indication the alignment is off. The car tracks straight and true (even with hands off the wheel) and there is no vibration of any kind at any speed.

I went to another America's Tire and told them about the attitude I experienced (BTW I have bought tires from America's Tire for the last 10 years). The manage apologized, looked at the tires and agreed that the wear was premature and excessive. Unfortunately Nitto does not have a mileage option and they would not do anything. The manager offered me a discount on replacements. The fronts are normally $166 ea. plus mounting balancing, disposal fee and taxes. There is essentially no warranty from Nitto. He offered me a $0 deductible road hazzard warranty and charged me $290 out the door including all fees and taxes.

I consider myself a moderately spirited driver and I haven't taken the car to the track since I replaced the original PS2s. I just hope they last as long as the rears. Then I will replace all four with a brand other than Nitto. I have been happy overall with the tires (they ride well, stick like glue and are very quiet) but think 5K is pretty poor.
