She was waiting in the driveway, hands on her hips and a look on her face I had seen only once before during labor at the birth of our fist child. I stopped the car a good 25 yards from her and got out quickly. "What have you done?" she said. I responded this is for you. I could tell from the look that she did not understand so I said very clearly THIS IS YOUR CAR. For the first time in our 35 years of marriage she was truly speachless. I kept that 25 yard separation until a huge grin came upon her face. You will see that look when she sees her car for the first time and it will be worth whatever you paid for the car, priceless as they say. But never fear. If Cathy is like my wife Linda you will get to drive that SRT OFTEN. As a matter of fact it will happen each time the gas gauge reads empty. However , you may hold the sole honor of being the only one who gets to wash that car.All kidding aside, good luck with the new car and I hope to see you both at the dragon in April.
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, I imangine I will get it everytime the tank is low. I know if I ask she'll remind me that it isn't a stick, if I wanted my own SRT I should have bought one and YADA YADA YADA.
I'm fine with that. This is the kind of car that gives me pleasure, just to see it in my drive way. Or follow her to work. And when she lets a Mustang know he picked on a real woman, I'll catch up (eventually) and give her a big smile.
And yes, you will see both of us at the Dragon. I'll be pulling up the rear.
