When I installed mine, I used a yard (meter?) stick to compare "beam height" between the 2 sides. I would suggest pulling the car nose-in to a blank wall and looking at the pattern of light. Then slowly back away, watching for oddities.
I don't have any hotspots, just 2 dark lines-shadows of the support posts inside the capsules.
