The 2.4L 4 banger in the Neon SRT4 and PT Cruiser GT is one hell of a stout little lump. You can easily make 450HP on stock internals with these things, and that is without spray. I've know several guys who are running in the 12s with modded PT Cruisers, one guy even running high 11s with his amps and subs still in the car! He dyno'd at close to 600HP. Still can't go around a corner worth a damn.

Hell, my little PT Cruiser with nothing but the Stage 1 ECU has run 14.4 at the track, and that was with horrible surface prep and a 2.1 sec 60' time. The really fun thing was my car came from the factory in what is know as "Turbo Lite" trim, meaning it had the exact same engine as the GT/SRT4 but managed by an ECU tuned to run on regular gas instead of premium and making just 180HP instead of 220HP. So when I swapped out from the factory ECU to the Stage 1 ECU I jumped from that 180HP/195lb-ft to 245HP/265lb-ft in 20 minutes. For a mere $350!!! Wouldn't it be nice to gain 1/3 more power in a Crossfire (or any other car) for such a small amount of cash??

Oh, and from 25mph that little automatic trans PT will light the front tires if I jump on it. Damn FWD!
