Traction issues are traction issues, regardless of which wheels are putting the power down. A '65 Shelby Cobra is RWD and if all you do is rev to 5,000 rpm and side step the clutch you won't get any traction either. And you certainly won't run a fast 1/4 mile. Regardless of what you're driving you have to know how to drive it.
But no matter how you slice it, spin it, smoke it...... the first one to the line wins. Period.
