The MSRP of the Crossfire at introduction was out of reach for most 20 somethings so it's no wonder the average age of Crossfire owners was relatively high. That's quite typical. But with prices plummeting the car has become much more attainable for even people of very modest incomes - although maintenance costs will be a bit higher.
Even so, the BMW E46 and Infiniti G35 were greatly favored by professional 20somethings and 30somethings, so the few younger folks who could afford them bought them.
I think the Crossfire's domestic brand and upscale image (that weird Celine Dion marketing campaign), retro-ish styling, and higher price drew in older buyers with more money.
My SRT6 actually replaces a 2004 BMW 325 convertible. An older woman (in her late 80s) ran a red light and hit my door at over 35mph.
