Default Re: Midlands Meet 4th/5th July 2009

I get the hint ! ( ref post on other thread )

It is probably decision time. The details are at the top of this thread. I will attempt to describe what would be expected. If we go for this event then it runs over two days. Folk could either be there for both or just one day. The idea would be to turn up in the morning park in our alloted space and then thousands of paying members of the public turn up. You are really expected to leave your car there all day. But can wander off as there should be a few of us there to look after the cars and answer any questions.

Things to do :
  1. see the other cars ! And watch the arena displays.
  2. Supermarket for provisions is 800 yards
  3. Real ale pub with cheese counter 800 yards the opposite direction
  4. "Touristy" shopping centre 800 yards
  5. Samuel Johnsons museum, Erasmus Darwin museum, cathedral, "story of lichfield" museum civil war, tudors etc all 800- 1,000 yards
  6. more coffee shops, pubs and nice varied retaurants than you woudl expect for a place so small
  7. Roman fort 3 miles away
If we don't want the commitment of the cars being at this event then an alternative would be to visit Lichfield and do the local stately home instead ( Shugborough Hall) as we seem to have a penchant for stately homes. So I can offer a weekend of food, drink and stately home as we have done in the past with a visit to Cars in the Park or we can be a bit more serious and show our cars off to Jo Public exhibiting at this event.

Your thoughts, comments and questions please !!!!

Paul
