Woah, you mentioned that you wanted to be able to switch off the S/C for long trips????
Well I still have two magic wishes and I dont even need one to solve your request. All that is needed is to simply place a simple switch on the supercharger clutch line. THat would place it off line and reduce the drag that you speak of.
AWARNING WILL ROBINSON _ _ _ DANGER AHEAD !!
THis can be done easily, BUT YOU MUST NOT TURN THE SWITCH BACK ON ABOVE IDLE [1300 RPM.] IF you turn it on above idle you will over heat, score the clutch face and totally kill the clutch and magnet on THE FIRST TRY.
If this is something that you want to do place the switch under the hood so that you dont make a costly eror. The car will be anemic but work otherwise, IF you wanna do it.
PS the belt must not come off, you would lose alternator, a/c, power steering, COOLING and the S/C
