Something isn't right with those runs then. There's no reason for the 300C, Charger and Magnum SRT-8s to run low 13s consistently and then have the Challenger be almost a second slower. It's not like they weigh 500lbs more than the other LX cars.
If multiple car magazines are gettinng similar results with all the LX cars, Challenger included - which is to be expected, really - then to me that's just further proof that what forum members have witnessed is down to poor track prep, drivers who don't quite know their cars yet, or a combination of other factors. I can see the R/T editions of these cars struggling to reach 13 seconds because I've outrun other HEMI LX cars with my PT even when I probably shouldn't have.
I've always thought it's the magazine test runs. Lately, it seems every one I read is low too. Not just with srt's but in general. Of course... they do say it takes a driver 40+ runs to learn to get a vehicle down to it's best launching point and capabilities. Now if only I took mine to the track...lol!
Some of the lx guys do tend to think the 300's and mags are faster than the chargers tho for some reason. I dunno...
