I've owned an SRT-6 for a little over a week now. The brief review is I like it!

It's quick. Quick enough that I run out of speed limit very, very quickly. I sense this may be a problem in the months to come. :twisted: I can't say exactly how quick, because I'm still in the 1000-mile break-in and have resisted the temptation to really push it. The temptation is incredibly strong. Several months ago, I didn't buy a limited coupe because I was disappointed by the acceleration. It wasn't slow, but it wasn't exactly fast either...not fast enough to back up the looks, especially when I'd test-driven a 350Z on the same day. The SRT is what I was missing: the substance to go with the style.

The change to handling is just as notable as the supercharger. My experience with a normal Crossfire is that it drives like it's glued to the road and corners like it's on rails. This one feels...unglued, maybe? If I didn't know better, I would say it was lighter than the base model. It responds to the slightest twitch, but predictably and controllably so. Most of this undoubtedly comes from the new suspension, which is decidedly stiffer. It is not the stiffest I have driven or owned, but stiff enough that many words of criticism have been directed at it by reviewers. I have no such words. I feel the road. I know the road. I am at one with the road, and I am pleased. Those who do not appreciate this oneness may appreciate an Oldsmobile instead.

The traction control is almost silly. It's far too eager to kick in and limit power to the wheels, considering how eager the engine is to send power to those wheels. I thank the gods of automtive engineering that this feature has an off switch, which I expect to use in all but inclement weather.

I know the seats are different. The truth is, I don't notice the seats at all. I suppose that in a certain sense, that's the best thing that could possibly be said about a car seat. I would have to spend more time in other Crossfires to make any sort of comparison.

Finally, the wing. So cosmetic, yet so controversial. I definitely agree that the lines of the car at rest are cleaner without it. Yet open it up on the freeway, and the wing blends more cleanly with those lines than the deployable flap. Everything about this car was made to be put into motion, and to show its spoiler-side to other drivers. I call this one a draw. On the other hand, I love the wheels.

As for the rest, it's the same Crossfire that people here know and hopefully love as much as I do mine. It is good.
