The Spirits were built on either an A or AA platform, don't remember which one but it was derived from the K platform.

The R/T certainly had performance for it's time. The car was also fairly civil, roomy, got good mileage, and had a decent build quality.

The major letdown of the R/T, and all of the Spirits, is the paint job. Chrysler either used a poor primer or no primer at all, but the end result is that many of these cars today sport more metal than paint. When new mine looked as good as the pictures above, now it's just a mess. It's bad enough to get me all teary eyed .
