Re: National Back Ordered/Seat Heater Modules
First time was the drivers seat grid burned out, bottom section, second time was the lights flashing and not always working, so they found pinched wires near the radio? and repaired them, the third, and forth, time they could not duplicate the problem, fith time they duplicated problem, and said it was the module, according to Tech Line, now they say its back ordered, and the MODULE has never been REPLACED yet, and might not be in untill April ? if there was not a problem with them then why would they be on national back order??? when we had things on back order it was because there was a larger demand of that particular part, as far as putting a load on a cold engine, or alternator, then why do any other types of car company's seat heaters do not do that, and why does it not shut off the headlights, rear defroster, cabin fan and such, and have to wait till the engine is warm enough to take a load, all of these cause a good load on the electrical system and should be no different then the seat heater and especially only using one side, since I am the only one in my car most of the time, it would seem to me the things that have major draw on the electrical system would all act in the same way, and this happens at 10, 16, and 23 degrees out, and if it was normall I have to say tech line would be telling that to the dealers technicians and not allowing them to replace them under warranty since there is nothing wrong with them, because I have worked in dealerships and they do not like the techs to just throw parts at a car there is a thing called the 3 C's, complaint, cause, and correction, other wise the tech and the dealer have to eat the cost of relacing stuff when not needed and would reject their claims for warranty reimburstment, allthogh later after my SRT6 race car warranty expires, I will be looking into maybe replacing the grids also, since the grids are of poor design and weak griding material, cause I'm sure the other grids will fail eventually also.
