SRT6 "Hiccup" on take off
I have searched and searched but can’t seem to find a post that really resembles what my car has been doing since day one. First, let me say that the car did this when it was bone stock. Each morning, when the car is cranked for the first time, at roughly 1500-2000 rpms under mild load, the car would “hiccup”. An ever so slight hesitation where the car would seem to momentarily stop accelerating and then recover. This hiccup as I will call it, lasted for less than a second and then not really appear again under normal driving. I have obviously modded the car since then and was hoping that the hiccup would cure itself as I replaced stock parts with new ones. I changed the air intake, supercharger pulley, added a sprint booster, and LET Tune. I have had the “faulty leaking “ sensor on my transmission replaced and have fresh transmission fluid in the car. I have 12,000 miles on it and have changed the oil every 1500-2000 miles. Nothing affected the hiccup and for last year or so, no change in the symptom.
Here is the thing….the hiccup is now getting worse. It used to be a once a day thing, now it is happening all the time under mild acceleration mainly from dead stops. Has anyone had this issue or have any ideas of what I should check? It does not happen under full throttle take offs, and I cant really tell if it happens on the freeway because this car builds low end boost so quickly. From take off, the car is still at a vacuum and not boosting when this occurs so I do not think it is the supercharger engaging but I could be wrong. My first though is transmission related but I am not for sure.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
