They pretended not to hear it, because they're incompetent *****. Most of my previous cars (Japanese) also had a light tick, usually at idle from HLA clatter or injectors opening.
This is louder and happens under acceleration. I've read some previous threads and some folks have had their motors replaced due to faulty guide pins.
I guess there's a warranty if it blows up.
