Default Re: any High-mileage SRT-6's out there???

You guys don't do much driving, do you? I have just over 69,000 miles on my SRT-6 coupe. Of
course, I've been driving as my daily driver for nearly 4 1/2 years now (bought Oct. '04). Though
I've had a few issues over the years (heated seats, IC pump x 2, idler pulley, and a couple of
cosmetic issues due to crap people have left in the road) this car is still running very strong. I've
still got 2 1/2 years (or another 31,000 miles) left on the extended warranty, so I'm still happy as
a clam in mud. That tick from the engine has been there since day one, and does not appear to
have worsened over the years, and I only hear it at idle (when the stereo is turned down ;^).

I bought this car for several reasons. First , and foremost, was as a road warrior for doing battle
in rush hour traffic. Atlanta rush hour is awful, and there are a lot of jerks out there who do real
stupid stuff when you try to go around them. Such as driving real slow in the left lane in heavy
traffic, and when I would get an opening to get in the next lane to pass the slow poke, they will
accelerate to keep you from passing until you catch up with traffic again, then they slow back
down to below the speed limit after you have to drop back in behind them. With this car, this has
not been a problem, as I'm past the jerks before they can react.

Second, this car looked so much better than the S2000, GTO, Solstice, 350Z and all the other sporty cars I was looking at. Plus, it will out accelerate just about all of those. G35 was never in
the running as I wanted a two seater. Yeah, the 350Z has a back seat, but not one you can really
put people in (except small children). When I was a kid, my old man was in the car business and
I really liked drawing pictures of the various cars he sold. I also liked to draw pictures of cars I
created in my mind. The Crossfire looks almost exactly like the car I imagined and drew most
often.

Third, It's just one bad-assed car at half the price of comparable bad-assed cars (stock). Anyone
can mod any car, but stock for stock, this car, hands down, was the best bang for the buck, even
with the $41K price I paid. Yeah, lots of people are driving these for a lesser selling price, but while
they were drooling, I was tooling. I truly believe I've gotten my money's worth, and the next several
years will just be gravy.

My goal is to put as many miles on this car as I did on my previous vehicle (250K miles) and
then replace the motor and do another 250K miles.
