My top looked identical to Gators right down to the roll of duct tape. From my research I found the only real way of fixing the glass problem was to get a new top. Living in south FL and believing that our very hot summers contribute to the separation of glass and top, I found a great upholsterer and had him sew a plastic window in. The way I look at it I never used the rear defogger so will not miss it and for the price I can have 3 more windows sewn in before I spend more than the $1700 for a replacement top. Not only is it functional it looks fine and should last at least a few years..... maybe more.
