Probably not what your looking for but it might give you a few ideas? This is what I came up with for my XM mount. I put a few bends in a pieice of 1/8 x 2" peice of aluminum, drilled a couple of holes then put a coat of rustoleum hammer paint on it. Cost was less than five bucks but I spent the better part of a day fitting and such.
Nice fabrication! And the paint job really replicates the commercially available brackets. Hows the paint holding up? I also considered this location a while back while looking around my dash although due to the vertical size of the iPhone it wouldn't lend itself well as yours does. I really wish that
Pro.Fit offered the G3 mounts for our cars! When I contacted them they said that "I checked with the designer and since the vehicle was discontinued in 07 we will not be developing a mount for this vehicle. But, you may want to consider the universal G3." I corrected them on the last year of our cars firstly and knew that if I had access to all of their options I could find one that would work, but they couldn't help with one that would fit made for another car. I'm still not happy with mine. And as always, I'll keep buying/looking until it's the cleanest it can be.
