Re: new dodge 'electric' vehicle likely a crossfire chassis
The Exfire chassis is not a good candidate for electric. This despite what Jay Leno has in his garage.
I know the guys in Washington DC think designing an electric car is as simple as putting an electric motor in an existing chassis and filling any empty space left with a battery. But to actually work the technology will need a whole new concept of drive line and chassis.
Think integrated motor&brake "in the wheels." Think small very powerful shallow charge ( and very evironmentaly unfriendly) lithium batteries and everything controled by a wireless, integrated computer system. All of it requireing a completly altered configuaration of the chasis because the function of the chassis will be radically different.
Anything else is a Prius.
