Welcome to the forum!
Yes there is an issue with belt slippage on the SRT but I don't recall anyone that is running stock has had slipage problems. Also, at least in my case, the slipage occurs in the higher RPM ranges and not down low where you seam to be experiencing problems.
This car gets from the moment you mash the gas so I'd say that you do have a problem.
Take the engine cover off and look for black powder (rubber from the belt). If you see it then look to be sure that the belt is tracking true on all of the pulleys.
You can also do a throttle reset. That might be a good idea since you just got the car.
