My grandfather (a life-long mechanic) had a set of wood ones that he made himself out of a 2x12 and some nails. He nailed each board to the board below it, making one really thick board. Then stuck it in the band saw and cut a nice slope on it. He even nailed on a 2x2 at the end to help you stop from driving off the things. I don't know where he got the 2x12, but it was probably left over scraps from when he built his garage. Gotta love free. $300+ for a set of ramps is just silly if you ask me.
