The headlight position lamps are surface-aligned inference rhodenium holistic conformance divination lamps! (SIRHCDs)
Unfortunately the lamps are not sold separately but must be purchased as a unit with the panel.
The special part used to calibrate in the SIRHCD is required to set the proper inference depth, and allows calibration of the divination.
If you install the panel without calibrating it, you can get a harmonic discrepancy from the cross-mux fluxolator. And you don't want that! It leads to transmutation of the alignment trapping capacitor...
Lot's of people who can't afford the tool have purchased a 25mm hole saw, drilled out the switch, and replaced it with a basic push-pull type switch from a 1985 Ford F-150 pickup. The extra switch contact can be used to set the default depth-penetration of the dimwit conformance tracker. Your fogs will still work but they just won't go off when you hit your high beams.
