Re: We beeze peddling as fast as we can go
This is why Iam Alpha, the testing of the water is going to be done after painting. The scoop is way in front of the belts.
The negative scoops are just behind the radiator to maximize negative pressure there and DRAW more air thru the core. With motion the venturi effect is to aid cooling and sitting the heat has a way OUT.
You may remember my foot brace and the intitial cooling alterations that I did to allow me to do autocrossing previously . Thats when I found that extended high rev operation caused overheating of the intercooler. Well thats solved, now I want to continue to improve the overall thermal package in the Crossfire by improving heat extraction and rejection when parked or sitting in the staging lanes. Later this summer fan mods are my next initiative.
After this is done, there an interested ( he said ) manufacturer that is thinking about manufacturing carbon fiber hoods on this design. Id love to see that if it is all up to my sniff test of freshness / bullet proof design completeness. That way these could be available for others and there is not much better than swapping hoods for looks and retention of the sales value, Iam sure that youll agree.
Swapping the hood on is about a 10 minute process for a 62 year old unassisted except for a bunch of bathroom rugs to protect the windshield and fenders from the oopsies. It should be neat overall and yall get to watch in case it goes pottie, though I have been thinking this thru 'I believe'.
Great weather (73 degrees) to get the Spring design season started. THoes that make it to the Tail of the D will get to see the hood design , though I wont want to open the hood due to work in progress; just to warn ya. The paint finish will be unique and not what others will probably want as Iam going with some unusual type of paint material. All the projects should be done by the Carlisle meet though, I HOPE.
Date night #2, Drive safe, Woody
