I turned my equalizer off on the radio and some of the hiss went away. I also made an adjustment to the ipod equalizer. If I played around with it more I probably could have adjusted it better. The hiss is really only there above volume level 41. The higher it goes, the louder the hiss. And you only really hear it between songs when it is quiet. 41 is pretty loud and I hardly put it up that high anyway. If the hiss bothers you, the best thing to do is probably use the front Aux jack and raise the volume on the ipod. The audio sounds great though.... I guess a little hiss with the radio blasting is better than using FM modulators and transmitters.
I am using a Samsung P2... I would use my iphone for music.. but, it doesn't support Rhapsody... I can connect the Samsung via Bluetooth or Aux in.. but, either way... I still hear the hissing sound you are talking about.. Also if I accelerate hard... You can hear the RPMs go up... I was reading online it could be a bad ground or something.. not sure.. Eveything else seems to be good.. Not sure about the charging issue with the Ipod.. But, I think the ipods battery would fill up before it drained your car battery.. Anyways.. I will let you know if I find a fix for the whining sound..
