In my opinion, you are better to get the latest '04 serial no. you can get.

Not only will you likely get a more updated model (in theory that is) but you will also be getting one that hasn't been sitting around somewhere for as long (were talking new vehicle here). As mentioned in this thread, the serial numbers for 2004 go up to approx. 25000.. It appears that vehicles serial #10,000 or earlier were built sometime prior to January 2004.
