And rightfully so. If you damage a tire or wheel beyond an easy repair, you will probably have a long and expensive wait for a replacement. Imagine being on a distant trip and needing a replacement tire and/or wheel. AAA or your insurance can get you towed off the road to a repair facility. However, most dealers and tire shops will have to order the stuff to get you back on the road at a high cost and major delay. Also, plan on motel and transportation, etc. costs. For me, that is one of the biggest concerns about traveling in the Crossfire. Do a search and you will find that some members have purchased a donut or deflated Mercedes spare tire to carry in the ‘trunk’. I have an extra front and back wheel with tires mounted, and an extra front and back tire not mounted. I was able to find them for reasonable prices on ebay. They are waiting at home to retrieve for a local problem, or possibly for an overnight(??) delivery for a more distant problem. The delivery could become a bit expensive, but not as bad as paying for and waiting for a new tire and/or wheel from a dealer? I also carry a plug repair kit with needle-nose pliers. Even, with all of these options, traveling without a spare still makes me a bit uncomfortable?
