I would use an rpm switch for like MSD or such and tie it into the tranny if your manual.
If not Id get an air pressure switch which could be a micro switch fitted with a small metal sail or buy the little box air pressure switch which are adjustable for HOME A/C controls ( air pressure control switch). Low pressure but thats a lot of work in any event. Might go for a gear switch like high is up?? Simple and effective. You can then get a time delay control that keeps it from jumping around.
I wanted to do this to my crossfire srt so that when I was above like 50, the wing stands up for braking like old Phil Hill in the chapparell which also proves I cant spell. Dynamic braking and some new super cars do that too now.
