I was experienceing some high intake temps the other night. When I got home my CM30 pump was very hot! I think it is because of my bad design due to the limited underhood space. It's not being gravity fed and is having to suck and overheating/working it. I am probally going to upgrade from my one gallon tank to a 3 or 4 and put it in the trunk.
So while I have it apart I might do a little experiment. I closed all the upper vents blocked the drivers side foot vent and put a 3/4" heater hose up the passenger side foot vent. Cranked up the AC and it was blowing a pretty good amount of cold air. I was thinking of trying to hook this line straight to the intercooler inlet?? What do you think?
My other option was to somehow make a heatsink for the tank in the trunk that the air could flow through and possibly cool the coolant for the IC system? I know there was an old thread that talked about using the AC but I don't recall if it went anywhere. I'll probally try it anyway unless someone has a good reason not to.
