Default PAINT WORK ON MY BUMPER... Need help with this.

With heavy winds, a thin small sheet of metal fell on the back of my car and made a little chip in the back bumper and scuffed up the whole back with little scratches and scuff marks. I used some wax and buffed out the scuff marks. All anyone will ever notice is the chip (or small slice) in the plastic. I put a little touch up paint in there.

Now the question... is there a way I could make it blend by smoothing it out? Maybe a compound? Something safe that won't make it look worse. The one responsible for the damage offered to pay and fix the problem but I don't want the bodyshop touching the car. They are great and actually gave me a new bumper when I was rear ended. I trust them because they do high quality work. But any advice on how I can smooth it out (the little bubble of touchup paint) and make it look better, let me know. My car is black!
