I'm no expert on the subject, so please correct me if I'm mistaken. But, I'm pretty sure it's not the pressure of the air entering the engine, but the amount. For example, guys like me with just a pulley are running higher boost than someone with the same setup plus intake manifolds. But the guy with the manifolds is gonna make more power, with less boost because of higher allowances for flow. That made more sense in my head...
