I hear that with most mufflers, they mellow with time so you might want to try to drive around for a while before making your decision to remove it. In some of the posts I've read that it can take a few weeks to months before they mellow. That all depends on how much you drive the car. This is a good excuse to take out the XF every day and drive it as much as possible.
If after a while you decide it's still too loud shoot me a PM and I may just take the Ansa off your hands.
