Notice that all of the stock colors have an "antique" look to them (except black - how do you antique black?) Check out some Art Deco styling in decorator or architecture magazines. You'll see that they pull from a range of colors that have a certain feel to them.

So my point is that Art Deco colors will look "right" on an Art Deco car.
