Congrats on the purchase.
As for the winter driving, i have had mine for 2 mi winters now and have had no problems (it is my daily). Just remember the old saying "slow and steady" because the traction control and ESP work great in this car. If you feel the rear end getting away from you, let up a bit on the gas and it will get right back in line. another tip, if you can see a red light or can predict a red light slow down so that by the time you get to it... it will be green again.
