I'd say that the s2k and crossfire are about as far apart on the spectrum of sports cars as one can get. It's like comparing a crossfire to a lotus elise. They really are designed for 2 different purposes. The crossfire is vastly more refined, numb, and comfortable than the s2k. But it also has significant midrange torque and doesn't require you to really rev the car out. The s2k will be harsher, but also more connected to the road, so it will have a far more aggressive feel. I think this really has to due with the philosophies of honda and mercedes. Mercedes isn't really known for cars that are terribly engaging to drive. They are more like modern day muscle cars. Honda, on the other hand, is known for feel and connection to the road---a certain lightness on its feet.

They really are two different ways to doing things, but you kind of have to decide what you like. I personally like the more GT-type personality of the crossfire versus the more intense sports car personality of the s2k. The s2k would make a fantastic sunday driver or track car, while the crossfire makes a superb anytime car.

It's kind of interesting really, this past weekend I put about 400 miles on a Mazda 5, which is a small sporty little van. The first thing I noticed, and it was significant, was how fantastic the steering was compared with the crossfire. It also seemed a bit lighter on it's feet because it wasn't nearly as refined. It was kind of fun to drive actually. But I think this really demonstrates to me just how different something like an s2k and a crossfire can really be. The crossfire drives like a mercedes----solid, planted, vault-like but kind of numb and not overally communicative with the driver. You need to drive one and find out if you are ok with those sorts of qualities in a car marketed as a sports car.
