Re: Brighter headlamp bulbs
Hi,
Take care because other parts of the headlight assembly could suffer?
Working on the same principle as a house light, if you were to put a 100W lamp into a holder / lamp shade that is marked up at 60W the chances are it would get too hot, burn / brown the holder or the shade and the plastic surrounding the holder would become brittle.
The exception to this rule is if you put in a low energy lamp that gives out 100W's of light but only uses say 15W's power; if this is the case then you get brighter light but actually create less heat.
Don't know if the lamps you have used follow the last rule but I would think not. The chances are that you are now creating 100W heat inside each headlamp and this has got to go somewhere so be careful and keep an eye on the headlamp surrounds and holders.
By the way, if they hold up please let us all know because brighter headlights are always a good thing.
Good luck.
