I have only had a problem with the top when I had taken down the divider panel to use the full trunk. It absolutely is sensitive to being in the right position. You have to lift it up a little to make sure it engages in the two upside down hooks that the pegs fit into (don't know how else to describe them). If it slumps down from the hooks, it doesn't make contact and the top won't go down.

I will admit, after watching the top go down on the demo car I drove, I opted for the extended warranty just for that. I have faith in the reliability of the drive train and just about everything else but those zillion cables and switches and folding parts. Not that a Chrysler mechanic will know anything about them in a couple more years!
