Do you know what holds the trim on and how they removed it ?
And how was the rear view mirror attached to the glass ?
Mine is electronic auto dimming so I'm concerned about this as well.

I had mine replaced. No real issues, but my trim going across the roofline has since flown off the car serveral times at the track (at high speeds) and ruined the paint.
It's just not as tight a fit as before I guess.
