Sorry, standard Crossfire guys, this guy would miss his S2000 too much with a regular Crossfire, but wouldn't even think about it with an SRT. You would have a stiffer suspension, unbelievable power, exclusivity (only 2016 produced), and full respect once the pedal hits the floor. There are very few cars on the road under 100 grand that can take an SRT6. S2000s are no match for an SRT6. You can still find them with under 10k miles for under 17 grand. SRT6 or keep shopping
I would think this is his decision to make. If he drives an s2k, he may appreciate rowing gears and pushing a car to make power. The srt6 is a great car, no doubt. Before I got my na coupe I came on here and asked about the cars. A few people like yourself told me to only consider an SRT6 as I would be disappointed with the lack of power of the coupe. The problem with this logic is that there is ALWAYS something faster. If you are always chasing speed/ppower, to me, you are more likely to be disappointed in the end. I chose the na coupe in the end because I enjoy the technical aspects and feel of rowing through my own gears. I would go so far as to say that a sports car isn't a sports car without a manual transmission. I would rather have a Z06 for instance over a Nissan GTR primarily because of the manual transmission in the vette.
There is also a bit of fun to be had with rowing through the gears of a na crossfire precisely because it isn't as quick as an SRT6. I mean I can bang through the first few gears and often not be much over the speed limit. As the saying goes, it's better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. That's often how I look at it--unless I wanted something I could also take to the track on a semi-regular basis. ANd in that case, I likely wouldn't look at an SRT6 either. The auto would kill it for me on a roadcourse. Part of the fun/challenge is trying to get it to all work well at the same time.
Enjoy your SRT6 as it's a fantastic car, but IMO, it's not automatically better than a na just because it has more power. The automatic is the achilles heal of the SRT6 IMO. And plus, TVT Tuning offers some tuning kits that up the power on the na crossfire to levels that are a bit higher than stock, so if you want a bit more power on the na car, there are some options.
To the OP, I say make sure you spend enough seat time in both variants of the crossfire and see what fits your personality and driving style better.
