Couple of points of note here:
1. Paul is the director of business development. THe fact that he even takes our calls for orders shows that he has commitment to people and not just a business deal. During my chat with him he confirmed that. If I were in charge of biz dev I surely would not wast time taking orders for a $200 muffler.
2. These mufflers were originally $350 a piece and the profit on these is long gone. Selling 10 or 15 or whatever number of mufflers like this is definitely not going to pay the bills at Ansa.
3. Ansa is a top notch company with a great deal of r&d behind thier products so you are not only getting a great deal but a muffler often found on only exotics. And for how much only $2bills that is a deal.
So to summarize "me thinks Paul is a pretty good guy for tryin to help us out". A master of marketing yes, but not a dumb one. Selling these at about cost is not a way to make money. He and I discussed these very points. Even if he sold 100 of these how much money would he make if he was making even $50 profit per muffler? 5 grand? That is peanuts to a company like Ansa. Trust me this is not a money maker for Ansa. Lets be thankful that we are getting a great deal on these and smile!
