Default audio problems

I just bought a 06 Crossfire LTD coupe used with about 50k miles on it a month ago. First car I've bought with my own paycheck, and it's been fantastic so far, but yesterday when I was running some errands I stopped, went into the store, came back out and had no sound. The head unit was working just fine, every button was functioning and whatnot. All I could get out of the speakers was a quiet popping sound every few seconds. I figured I broke my amp somehow, but after crying around in my room for a bit I had to go back out and to my surprise the sound worked just fine. Again I stopped to go in a store, and when I came back out it didn't work.

So after a bit of experience this seems to be what's happening: If I drive around for more than a minute or two, turn the car off, and wait less than ~15 minutes before turning the car back on my audio won't work for the entire drive. When it does turn on, it never has any problems until I turn the car off.

I'll give the dealership where I bought it a call on monday, but I only have a few k miles left on the factory drivetrain warranty and there's nothing about audio in the dealership warranty.

Any ideas or advice?
