Re: IC Pump Failure
Well, Car Sense is already punting and taking my SRT-6 to a local Chrysler dealer (Courtesy Chrysler in Coatesville, PA). It seems that, despite being a 2005, it is still being covered under the 3 year/36,000 original warranty. They claimed that they could not make the S/C fail. I believe this because I drove it all of Saturday without noticing a single problem, yet on the way over there this morning it shut off and on 5 or 6 times.
The conversation I had with the Car Sense service manager was a bit frustrating. He said they can't diagnose it because they can't make it happen. This is a fair enough statement, but what is there to diagnose? No code is thrown...the thing just shuts down then comes back 2 minutes later. I think the problem is that they didn't drive it long enough. I just called Courtesy, and they do have a Crossfire certified tech. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I do have to give Car Sense props for customer service, though. I have a complimentary loaner, a 2008 Kia Sorrento LX, and they did call to update me the same day I brought it in. I'm disappointed that the problem is going to take additional time to diagnose, but I'm holding out hope they'll get it right.
