Re: Chrysler debt deal reached
I am reading in the Washington Post this morning that the debt deal is not done and Chrysler may very well announce bankruptcy this morning. Apparently the hedge funds which make up some of Chrysler's billions of dollars in debt have not agreed to a mark down and that could force the hand. I am also reading that Chrysler will use the bankruptcy as an opportunity to close many of their dealerships, a move otherwise prohibited by the state governments in which they operate. Whatever Chrysler emerges will most likely be under one roof, no more Dodge dealerships. The new company will be run by the guy who heads FIAT, Nardelli will take a walk.
