Default BAP/ESP Light

A few weeks ago, my BAP/ESP light came on. Moreover, the "exterior bulb failure" light came on whenever I applied the brakes. I presumed the brake light system had a problem and indeed it did........it wasn't working.

I checked the 15 amp. fuse in the fusebox on the left side of the dash, but is was fine. Oddly, however, after I replaced the fuse, the brake light system began to work again and the dash lights went out.

Today, it happened again. I opened the fusebox, removed the fuse, and reversed its position by 180 degrees. Again, the problem was solved.

While I am not an engineer, electrician, nor physicist, I decided that the current was being interupted by contaminents prior to entering the fuse. This caused the failure in the brake light system which activated the BAP/ESP light.

My solution: clean the fuse terminals with a solvent and that will provide a remedy.

I expect to hear from respondents who will ademantly disagree with me and call me an ignorant dummy, but it worked.
