Default Re: Air Intakes

Hey there Mr. Positive,
For one I'm not making a short ram air system, and two the highest PSI factor isn't necessarily near the ground. Actually in most cases the highest levels are found usually were your lights are. So Mercedes did in fact make a smart choice in were they ran there air-inlet hoses. The worst place you can put a filter is behind the radiator. Do to the multitude of honeycomb like chambers, the air is pretty much aubsorbed, or deflected. I tested the cars aero dynamics, in the search for the cars highest pressure area's. The stock inlets are pretty close to were you would find the hardest air flow. There were one, or two areas that would work justa as well, but would never work because of things like moisture, or debris. As far as heat is concerned I have heat defelcting sleeves that I have placed over the steel pipes. I take them off for the pictures, so you can have a better picture of what I was doing. I think the 500 has only has a single air hose, if I'm not mistaken. I think it runs down the same side as the coolant over flow tank is. Good luck with that one champ, oh and tell all those comedians at nasa I said hello for me. DME one of the biggest: hose/ tubing fabricators &, distributer companies in the world, doesn't think what I'm doing is very funny. Actually they are helping fund my efforts, in the development of this system. I guess we both don't share the same sense of humor, that NASA and yourself have.
